Glidden Park (at right): Five Hard Surface Courts; (2 Lighted)

Courts are used on a first-come, first-serve basis with a one hour limit for singles and one and a half hour limit for doubles. Players may remain on courts longer if no one is waiting. Lights are free and are activated by pushing the light button located along the west side of the courts. Lights remain on for about one hour, and may be reactivated.
Open Volley/Basketball Night
Age 16 and up
Dorris Intermediate School gym, Route 159 in Collinsville
Drop in for a night of fun and exercise playing one or both of your favorite sports. CARD is taking over the gymnasium at Dorris Intermediate School on Monday nights when school is in session and offering open volleyball on one side and open basketball on the other.
Date:
September 12-December 19 and January 9-May 14.
Fee: $3 per visit, payable at door
Time: 6:30-9 pm 
Will not meet on school holidays
Collinsville Baseball/Softball League youth programs

A local not-for-profit corporation the CBSL was created specifically for the benefit, enjoyment, moral improvement, and physical advancement of the youth of the area through baseball and softball. 2011 Kahok Junior Open Tennis Tournament
Don’t miss the 10th annual USTA sanctioned Kahok Junior Open on TBD. This is a singles and doubles formatted tournament held at the Collinsville High School courts, and open to boys and girls 18 years and under. USTA membership is a requirement, and USTA guidelines in “the Code” apply in all matches. Matches will be recorded as a best two out of three sets, using a 12 point tiebreaker. Balls will be furnished for all matches.
The USTA requires online registration on their website www.USTA.com (click on TennisLink, then tournaments-enter now, then enter the tournament ID # (404951211).
  Memberships can also be obtained online.

For those with little or no tennis instruction and playing experience.  Lessons will focus on grip, racquet control, court movement, mechanics of the basic stroke, and fun!  Scorekeeping, court etiquette, and sportsmanship will also be covered.  Player must bring a tennis racquet.

NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition

Boys and girls can test their football skills at this
FREE competition sponsored by CARD, the Raiders Youth Football program and the National Football League. Participants will compete in punting, passing and placekicking skills against children their own age. It only takes minutes to compete and earn your score!

Pitch, Hit and Run Competition
Age 7-14
Jaycee Sports Complex on Collinsville Road.

Participants are tested in three areas durign this
FREE event. Pitching at designated “strike zone” target, hitting from a stationary tee, and running from second base to home on 80-foot bases. All scores are converted to points for an all-around total. Boys play baseball, girls play softball.
Winners advance to sectionals, where they will compete for the opportunity to go Team Championship events at the 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game. Sponsored by CARD, Collinsville Baseball/Softball League, the Illinois Park and Recreation Association, and Aquafina.

Co-Rec Volleyball League
Age 16 and up

Registration will begin in the fall.
Get your team together for a season of volleyball fun and competition. In its second year, league teams of six (with at least two men and two women on the court at all times) compete on Thursday nights within two divisions of play. Matches will be officiated and include three games each week.

Dash ‘n Splash 5K Run/Walk and After Party

Take a dash and cool down with a splash. Start this fun-filled evening with a 5K run/walk then cool off and relax with a private party, dinner and music at Splash City Family Waterpark. The party is open to friends and family members of those participating in the 5K
run/walk.

The Monster Dash is a great way to get into the Halloween mood. The 11th annual 5K race encourages participants to wear their fun/freaky Halloween costumes for a pre-race costume contest.
Awards will be presented for the costume contest, and to the top overall male and female finishers, and to the top finishers in each 5K running category. Free refreshments will be available to all who participate
Participants who register by 5 pm on October 14 are guaranteed a race T-shirt and the reduced entry fee of $18. The entry fee after October 14 is $23.
