Recycling is one of the benefits of CARD. Bring your Christmas Tree to one of our recycling sites through January 14 ... and then keep on recycling all year 'round!

If there's enough snow ... and winter's not over yet ... enjoy Sled Hill at Glidden Park.

Christmas Tree Recycling Sites
Glidden Park’s - Sled Hill

Christmas Tree Recycling Sites
Help remove your “carbon footprint”  with Collinsville’s annual Xmas Tree Recycling Program. Remember, it’s just the tree, no garland or wreaths or anything artificial (like ornaments, lights or tinsel). You may drop off tree(s) through January 14 at these sites: Woodland Park at the Maintenance Building at Oliver Rd.; Jaycee Sports Complex at St. Louis Rd. & Complex Dr.; City of Collinsville Garage, 850 S. Morrison; and the Collinsville Township Highway Garage at 1407 N. Bluff Rd.

Yearlong Recycling With CARD
Recycling is the reprocessing of materials into new products. Recycling generally prevents the waste of potentially useful materials, reduces the consumption of raw materials, reduces energy usage, and hence greenhouse gas emissions as compared to virgin production.
Recycling is a key concept of modern waste management and is the third component of the waste hierarchy.
In cooperation with Madison County Recycling, CARD has a recycling location in Woodland Park that’s open year-round. The site is in the parking lot, next to Arthur Fletcher Field. The items which will be accepted include plastic bottles, cardboard, glass, paper, cans & clothing.
Other types of recycling opportunities will also be found throughout Woodland Park, as well as Glidden Park and the Jaycees Sports Complex.

Glidden Park’s - Sled Hill
There is great sledding right here in Collinsville at Glidden Park!  The Glidden Park Sledding Hill provides fun for the entire family.  Bring your own inner-tube or plastic sled.  Wooden sleds and metal runner sleds are not permitted.

Please remember:  When you use the hill for sledding, you assume full risk and responsibility for determining that conditions are safe for sledding.  Parents are responsible for supervising their children.

Location:  Glidden Park; across the road from the Jr. Service picnic pavilion and the Optimist in-line hockey rink off of Lebanon Road.

Sledding Rules and Regulations
The sled hill will open when the soil is frozen and there are two or more inches of snow and no visible grass.

When sledding, remember:

-Children under the age of 8 must be
  supervised by an adult.
-Only inner tubes and plastic sleds are allowed.
