Karate
Level 2 - 8-13 years old
This ongoing program offers new and continuing students an in-depth learning experience that includes discipline, coordination, self-defense, focused concentration, self confidence, and respect for others.
Loose fitting, modest athletic attire required to start (no jeans or skirts); uniforms are available for purchase from instructor. No jewelry or watches can be worn during class. No class Nov. 11.

Prerequisite: Purple, Red and Green Belts, and Gi (uniform).
Purple Belts will work on developing strength, stamina, and reflexes. Red Belts work on understanding the fundamentals of blocking, punching, striking, and kicking techniques used in self-defense. Green Belts will build on basic karate forms and self-defense techniques and work on the fundamentals of sparring. All students will continue learning martial arts and Japanese terms and practice dojo etiquette.

Focus for new students and White Belts is on building a foundation for physical fitness and improving motor skills and hand-eye coordination while introducing martial arts training methods. Students with Orange Belts will work on improving agility, flexibility, and coordination of martial arts techniques. All students will learn martial arts and Japanese terms and practice dojo etiquette.
