Borrow a rod from CARD!

Card Games
Do you like to play rummy, pinochle, or another card games but you can’t find anyone to play with? Well, if your Monday afternoons are open, we may be the place. Come & join other players  (55+) in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere to help each other learn & play various card games. We provide the cards.
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Date: Mondays, Jan. 7-May 26 (No card games on 1/21.)
Ages: 55+
Fees:  $1 resident; $2 nonresident

Board Games
After spending time with us on Mondays for “Card Games”, come back on Wednesdays to play some of your favorite board games, like Monopoly, Scrabble and others. This is a great way to keep busy, be social and keep your mind thinking.

Kitchen Creations
Learn the steps to cooking success and how to “Wow” your friends and family with a professional-looking presentation.  Participants will be able to eat what they prepare.  Our instructor has over 30 years of experience in the food industry as a caterer, lead cook in a fine-dining restaurant, and manager.  Register for any or all of the sessions.
Appetizers
Looking for something different than the little smokies or dip that you always make?  In this class, we’ll prepare a fancy cheese appetizer, three kinds of Rumaki hors d’oeuvres, and learn how easy it is to make a unique presentation that is sure to impress!

Vegetable Baskets
Vegetables don’t have to be boring.  Learn how to carve carrot tulips and radish roses, and other ways to dress up standard vegetables, and combine them in a vegetable basket. We’ll make a homemade dip, too.

Sauces & Gravies
Now you won’t have to skip making sauces and gravies because they don’t turn out like the ones you’ve tasted in restaurants.  We’ll start with the 5 bases and go from there.  Students will be given recipes to take home.

Fondues
Make a savory fondue for dipping vegetables and breads, as well as a dessert fondue for dipping fruit!  We’ll also try a Crostini recipe.  Students will be given recipes to take home.

Start your day with a breakfast buffet at the St. Louis Science Center followed by the OMNIMAX® film “Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs”.

No problem. Just visit the CARD Activity Center & borrow a rod, reel & tackle pack FREE.  Return the gear when you’re done. But first, catch a HUGE fish! Hey, anything can happen because FISHING RULES!!!
