Can’t wait until you can get a job babysitting? Learn the skills you need to be the babysitter that parents want! This interactive course trains young people to deal with various situations they may encounter while caring for a child, from simple care to basic first aid. Students will take an exam covering information presented in the clinic. Students should bring a sack lunch, drink, pencil & paper.

Beginning Watercolor
Explore the basics of watercolor painting with instructor Debbie Zumwinkle. Play with techniques unique to watercolor painting and get a feel for this special medium. Supplies provided.

Bike Maintenance Clinic
Do you know what to do if you’re out on the trail & have a problem with your bike? This clinic covers brake and shifter adjustment, pre- & post-ride checks, tire changing, and other general maintenance techniques. You can bring your bike if you like. The clinic is taught by staff from The Cyclery.

Scrapbooking Crops
Calling all scrapbookers!!!
Ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day or space in your home to work on those unfinished pages? Well, we have the solution!
Set aside a night once a month to enjoy uninterrupted time to learn new techniques, spend time with friends, work on your pages and have a lot of fun.
Each person will have a large individual crop space, access to a large variety of scrapbooking tools and supplies and the opportunity to learn from and/or ask questions of a scrapbooking consultant.
Join us for dinner, drinks and prizes….and of course, the chocolate will be flowing!!
All levels of scrapbookers are welcome.

Photography Fundamentals: Basic Digital Photography
This class includes techniques to master use of your digital camera, use equipment advantageously, efficiently store images on a computer, print digital images, use email to distribute your images & other information. You’ll also receive general hints on improving photographs with any camera.
Prerequisite: Read your camera manual & list your questions prior to class. You must bring a digital camera & manual to class & have access to a computer with image storing capability.

About CARD Karate
This ongoing program offers new & continuing students an in-depth learning experience that includes discipline, coordination, self-defense, focused concentration, self-confidence & respect for others. Loose fitting, modest athletic attire required to start (no jeans or skirts); uniforms are available for purchase from the instructor. No jewelry or watches may be worn during class.
Karate for Kids Level 1
Focus is on building a foundation for physical fitness & improving motor skills & hand-eye coordination while introducing martial arts training methods & dojo etiquette.
Prerequisite: New students & white belts
Ages: 6+

Orange Belts work on improving agility, flexibility & coordination of martial arts techniques. Purple Belts work on developing strength, stamina & reflexes. Students continue learning martial arts & Japanese terms & practice dojo etiquette.

Karate for Kids Level 3
Greater concentration for Red Belts as they work on understanding the fundamentals of blocking, punching, striking & kicking techniques used in self-defense. Green Belts build on basic Karate forms & self-defense techniques and work on fundamentals of sparring. Students continue to learn Japanese terms & practice dojo etiquette.
Prerequisite: Red or Green Belt & Gi (uniform)

About Irish Stepdance
Irish Stepdance originated in Ireland hundreds of years ago and has been recently popularized by world famous shows like Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. Traditional Irish Stepdance is characterized by a stiff upper body, whereas contemporary & performance Irish Stepdance uses arm and body movement along with rapid-fire & precise movements of the feet. Ceili (pronounced kaylee) & figure dances are group dances while other forms of the dance can be performed solo.

Instructor, Allyson McCann, has over 8 years of performance Irish Stepdance experience and has been awarded trophies and medals for high accomplishments. Participants are to wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle to each class. No dance experience required.

Performance School
Join Instructor Gwyddon Kelly, who has more than 40 years of experience with performance & competitive Irish Stepdance and holds a North American championship, for the next level of development.
Additional supply requirements include: ghilles, hard shoes, costume & school T-shirt. Participants are to wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle to each class.
Requirements: Must have completed at least 18 weeks of beginning Stepdance & have the consent of the instructor to enroll.

Advanced Stepdance
This class offers the highest level of difficulty in Irish Stepdance. To enroll, students must have the permission of Instructor Gwyddon Kelly.

Irish Bodhran (war drum)
Learn the art of the Irish war drum known as the Irish Bodhran (pronounced bawrahn).
If you ever wanted to be a drummer, this hand-held drum with a wonderful ancient sound is the way to go.
Drummers can also join the ranks of the drum corps “Irish Thunder” & accompany the Kelly-O’Sullivan Irish Dancers during performances throughout the area.
Participants need to provide their own Bodhran, which can be ordered through the instructor prior to the start of class.

Dynamic Dance
Classes offer a sampling of the major forms of dance. The program will begin with a warm-up and stretches and continue with the fundamentals of dance and movement. Girls will need leotards and tights; boys will need to wear a tee-shirt and a pair of shorts. Ballet shoes (not slippers) and tap shoes are required for this class.
