October, 2011 update: Phase one of the project is nearly complete and includes a pavilion, playground equipment, and an environmentally-friendly restroom facility. The restroom requires no outside utilities, which means a significant cost savings.
November, 2010 update: CARD recently received state approval of a phase two archeological excavation that was required as part of the park development grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The excavation found nothing historically significant. With the state's permission to move forward, CARD is working toward development of the project. Phase one will include site grading, utilities, roads, walking/biking paths, a pavilion, two restroom buildings, playground, volleyball and horseshoe courts, benches and signage. CARD has also begun work for phase two, which will connect the park to the MCT Schoolhouse Bike Trail.
The 50 acre property was purchased in 2007 for $1.3 million and includes the Park District's maintenance facility.

Woodland Park's Arthur Fletcher Field is home of Collinsville High School Kahoks Baseball. The park is home of three other ball fields: Jaycee Softball Field, Fletcher Jr. Field, and Tomahawk Field.
In the fall of 2003 "Woodland Chains" was created at the park. The 18 hole disc golf course was developed with the support of numerous private sponsors under the watchful eyes of volunteer developers Jeff Ligon and Robert Toebe. Similar to traditional golf, golfers throw a flying disc or frisbee into a basket striving to acquire the lowest score. The first tee is located near the restrooms next to the Lions pavilion. For a map of Woodland Chains click here.
Woodland Park also features five playground and pavilion sites: Jaycees, Optimist Club, Rotary Club, Lions Club, and Lakeside pavilions are available to rent. For pavilion rental information, click here.
Woodland's lake is home to numerous ducks, geese and fish.
The park is a busy place in the summer thanks to the International Horseradish Festival, help the first weekend in June each year. The event is free and open to the public.
Sitting on 30 acres, Glidden includes an in-line hockey rink and tennis courts. The park also has a soccer field and a basketball court.

For walkers and runners there is a 4/10 mile track. Playground equipment and restrooms are also available.
Glidden Park's Jr. Service pavilion is available to rent. Click here for details.
The Glidden Park Sled Hill provides winter fun for the whole family. The hill is open for sledding when the ground is frozen and there is more than two inches of snow. Families are welcome to bring their own plastic sled or inner tube, but wooden sleds and those with metal runners are not permitted.
The hill is located across the road from the Jr. Service pavilion and the in-line hockey rink.
Sled participants assume the full risk and responsibility in determining that conditions are safe for sledding. Parents are responsible for supervising their children. Avoid other sledders and objects. Move quickly out of the path of other sledders and climb uphill along the side of the slope. No more than two persons per sled.
