Lifeguard Accepting Applications

Minimum qualifications: At least 16 years old. Must be at least 54 inches tall, able to see and hear possible emergencies, be able to lift 40 pounds to chest height, capable of walking or standing on concrete for up to four hours, must have excellent communication skills and be able to think clearly and respond appropriately in an emergency. Lifeguard license, first aid and CPR certification required before season begins. Certification can be gained through Splash City. Employment can not be provided without certification.
Lifeguards oversee the safety of all guests and enhance their enjoyment of the facilities through constant supervision, consistent rule enforcement, friendly service a helpful attitude, and, when necessary, performing rescues.
Head Lifeguard All head lifeguard positions have been filled for 2013

Members of management ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service through hands-on contact with guests and supervision of staff and park operations. You will interact on a regular basis with CARD staff.

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma and prior organized and/or administrative experience. Must be at least 18 years old, be bondable, able to see and hear guests and staff, have basic computer knowledge, be able to count money and fill out cash reports. Able to lift 40 pounds to chest height and able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must have excellent communication and organizations skills and be able to think clearly and respond appropriately in an emergency.
Guest Services staff ensure the efficient operation of parties, group reservations and private rentals by serving as host/hostess to guests, organizing programs, processing transactions efficiently, keeping records, answering telephones and disseminating information. Additional duties may include visiting local businesses to promote Splash City.

Job summary: Respond to medical emergency calls within the park and provide medical care to those injured or ill.
Specific duties: Patient assessments, including physical examination and First Aid and Basic Life Support including airway management, ventilator support, circulatory and shock management, clinical assessment. medication administration. Will have to recognize the need for special or additional assistance; including Advanced Life Support, ambulance transport, patient extrication, rescue or other services. Will be responsible for appropriately interviewing patients, family members, bystanders, and witnesses. May also be responsible for any Physician contact, patient transfer and referral, transfer of care and follow up. Understands and performs appropriately under the Emergency Action Plan. Hydro Sculpt/Joggercise Instructor Accepting Applications

Minimum qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old. Previous water aerobics/fitness class instruction strongly preferred. Must be available to work Monday and Wednesday evenings 8-9pm May 29th - July 24, 2013.
Teach every class scheduled through the entire session. Prepare a workout based on the needs and the ability of participates and provide a visual of adaptations. Arrive on deck 10 minutes prior to the start of the first class and have all necessary equipment ready before class. Start and end classes on time. Job Description: Under the general supervision of Outdoor Program Coordinator, the Summer Day Camp Director is responsible for managing the Wild Wonders Summer Day Camp including, but not limited to, planning, organizing, and leading Camp activities; administrative duties; and the direct supervision of Camp Counselors, Counselors in Training, and Volunteers. Event Supervisor at Willoughby Farm Not accepting applications at this time
The Collinsville Area Recreation District (CARD) is currently accepting applications for a part-time event supervisor.
The duties and responsibilities include:
-- Work with the CARD Special Events Coordinator to provide a positive experience to individuals using the barn/pavilion for after-hours facility rental.
-- Oversee and assist in set up and take down of after-hours facility rentals at Willoughby Heritage Farm and Conservation Reserve, 631 Willoughby Lane in Collinsville, IL.
--Provide assistance to clients immediately before, during and after their rental time.
--Provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications:

Intern Accepting Applications
The Collinsville Area Recreation District (CARD) seeks an intern to assist with the operations of its recreation department. The student intern will be responsible for organizing and facilitating recreation programs and special events while operating within
a predefined budget. The student will learn skills in resource management, budget implementation, program and event coordination, and marketing. Intern will have use of district vehicles while performing job-related tasks.
CARD’s student intern will have the following responsibilities:
• Assisting the Program Coordinator with regular recreation programs
• Assisting the Special Events Coordinator with regular special events
• Working within a predefined budget
• Assisting in the development of a future budget
• Creating marketing materials for programs and special events
• Attending relevant meetings and educational seminars

Job description: This position averages 15 to 20 hours per week at the Activity Center/Administrative Office, located at 10 Gateway Drive in Collinsville. Duties include vacuuming, dusting, and mopping; trash removal; cleaning of restrooms; shoveling of snow (200 sq. ft.); maintaining assigned equipment and supply closet; reporting unsafe conditions and/or equipment; informing supervisor of supplies/chemicals needed; making recommendations for improvements; and other duties assigned. Applicants will also need to be able to perform the following essential task: lift 40 lbs.; climb a ladder (minimum 8 ft); set up and take down tables and chairs as assigned. Candidates with the knowledge and ability to perform minor facility and equipment repairs preferred. This position reports to the superintendent of recreation.

-Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in the building and grounds maintenance.
-Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; Ability to establish effective working relationships.

Part-time, year-round position
Duties and responsibilities include:
-- Interact with the public
-- Register individuals for CARD programs/special events
-- Answer questions regarding CARD programs/events/benefit ID card
-- Use telephone, fax, computer software to communicate
-- Work independently at a variety of tasks
-- Deliver excellent customer service in a potentially stressful environment.
-- Must be very comfortable with computer software and able to quickly learn new software
Qualifications:
-- High school degree or equivalent
-- Must be over 18 years old
-- Must have a valid driver’s license
-- Must pass a background check
-- Must be available weekdays: Applicants must be available to work 4-8 p.m., Monday-Friday at the CARD Activity Center/Administrative Offices located at 10 Gateway Drive in Collinsville, IL.
