Christmas Tree Recycling Program
Done with that live tree shedding its needles? Don’t throw it away - recycle it! Residents can drop off tree(s) beginning Dec. 15, 2008 until Jan. 12, 2009. Lights, ornaments and artificial materials must be removed from trees. Holiday wreaths and garland are not accepted.
Drop-off sites: Woodland Park at the Maintenance Bldg/Oliver Rd., Jaycee Sports Complex at St. Louis Rd/Complex Dr., City of Collinsville Garage at 850 S. Morrison, Collinsville Township Hwy Garage at 1407 North Bluff Rd.

Freaky Fives 5K Run and Fun Walk
The moonlit Freaky Fives is a great way to get into the Halloween mood. In its seventh year, this event encourages registered runners and walkers to wear their fun/freaky Halloween costumes for a pre-race costume contest! Prizes for the costume contest are awarded and awards are also presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top two finishers in each 5K running category.
Those who register by 5 pm on Oct. 15 are guaranteed an event T-shirt. Entry forms are available here. Print off a registration form here.

Letters from Santa
CARD is very excited to assist Santa Claus again this year with his Letters From Santa program. Each letter is personalized and specific and is sure to help bring the magic of Christmas alive for your child.
A form must be submitted for each child to receive a letter. Forms are available here or at the CARD office.
Letters will be sent to recipients prior to Christmas.
Fee: $4 per letter
Deadline: Dec. 15

Bring your friends and spend Teacher Institute Day and Veteran’s Day on a fun field trip where everything is included.
Trips are supervised by CARD staff and include all entry fees, lunch and transportation. Participants are encouraged to bring spending money.
